Formula
loss kg/ha = grains per m² × 10,000 × TGW ÷ 1,000,000
Worked example
Using the values pre-filled in the calculator above:
- Grains found in the sample = 40
- Sample area = 0.1 m²
- Thousand grain weight = 48 g
- Harvested yield = 8 t/ha
- Field area = 20 hectares
- Price per tonne = 220
