Formula
cost = Σ (kg per day × price per kg) × (1 + wastage)
Worked example
Using the values pre-filled in the calculator above:
- Number of animals = 50
- Concentrate per animal per day = 4 kg
- Concentrate per tonne = 320
- Forage per animal per day = 10 kg
- Forage per tonne = 90
- Days = 180
- Wastage = 8 %
