About the Fuel Cost Calculator
Journey fuel cost is distance divided by economy multiplied by price — the only difficulty is that economy comes in four different units depending on where you are. This calculator accepts all of them, splits the cost between passengers, and shows what a round trip costs.

Formula
cost = distance ÷ 100 × L/100km × price per litre
Worked example
Using the values pre-filled in the calculator above:
- Distance = 300
- Distance unit: Kilometres
- Fuel economy = 7.5
- Economy unit: L/100km
- Fuel price per litre = 1.65
- Passengers sharing = 1
- Journey: One way
