Formula
total = trip + alternate + reserve + contingency + taxi
Worked example
Using the values pre-filled in the calculator above:
- Distance = 350 nm
- Groundspeed = 130 knots
- Fuel burn = 32 litres/hour
- Alternate distance = 60 nm
- Final reserve = 45 min
- Taxi and run-up = 6 litres
- Fuel density = 0.72 kg/L
