Formula
area = litres × rated coverage × surface factor ÷ coats
Worked example
Using the values pre-filled in the calculator above:
- Paint you have = 5 litres
- Rated coverage = 12 m²/L
- Surface: Previously painted
- Coats = 2
the calculator returns:
- Area you can cover: 25.5 m²
- Effective coverage: 10.2 m²/L
- In square feet: 274.5
- Single coat coverage: 51 m²
